If you asked for a tow quote on a towing company's website

When you ask for a quote through QuotePlug, we collect what you type: where the vehicle is, where it's going, when you need it, what kind of vehicle it is and what shape it's in, your name, and your phone number.

We use it to work out the estimate, send your request to that towing company so they can say yes or no, and tell you what they decided.

We share it with the towing company you asked. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Text messages to customers

If you tick the “text me updates” box when you send a request, we text you about that request only: when the company accepts it, declines it, or marks it finished, and if the request runs out of time before they answer. That's one text per update and at most five texts per request. Texts never include review requests or other marketing. After a finished job, the request's status view in the widget may show a link to leave a Google review — you can ignore it.

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or HELP for help. Stopping texts does not cancel a request the company already accepted — call them directly. If you don't tick the box, we don't text you — call the company to hear what they decided.

Who else touches your information

We use a few services to make this work. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job:

Website analytics

On the public pages listed above, Google Analytics receives a page view with a URL path that has query strings and hosted-page company keys removed, plus basic browser, device, and approximate location information. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled. Analytics is not loaded on owner sign-in or dashboard pages, signup forms, payment pages, SMS opt-in forms, API responses, or the widget embedded on a towing company's own website. We also do not load it when your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal. When a towing company signs up after clicking a “start free trial” button on one of our pages, we record which of our pages that button was on (for example, “quote-widget-for-wix”) with the company’s account, so we can tell which pages lead to signups. This is stored on our own servers and is not sent to Google Analytics.

How long we keep it

Ninety days after a request is finished (accepted, declined, finished, or run out of time), we delete your name, phone number, email address, and the addresses from it. We keep the estimate and price breakdown as a record, without anything that identifies you.

Your choices

Email support@quoteplug.io to see what we have about you or to have it deleted sooner. We answer within 30 days. You can also ask the towing company directly.

If you run a towing company using QuotePlug

We keep your business name, website, the phone numbers and email addresses you want alerts sent to, your prices and service area, and your sign-in history. Billing is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. We text and email the alert contacts you gave us about new requests, missed requests, sign-in links, and your subscription — see the Terms for the full list.

Alert phone numbers and the consent that goes with them are never sold, rented, or shared with anyone for marketing. They go only to the messaging providers that deliver the messages.
